Syzygium, commonly known as brush cherry, is an evergreen shrub or small tree prized for its glossy, vibrant green foliage and clusters of fragrant, pale pink to white flowers that attract pollinators. This fast-growing plant produces edible, berry-like fruits that range from tart to sweet, ideal for fresh eating, jams, or jellies. Thriving in well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade, Syzygium is perfect for hedging, screening, or as an ornamental specimen, offering year-round interest and a splash of color to gardens and landscapes.

**Syzygium Care Instructions** - **Light:** Syzygium thrives in bright, indirect light. It can tolerate some direct sunlight, especially morning sun, but avoid harsh afternoon rays that may scorch the leaves. In lower light conditions, growth may slow. - **Watering:** Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water thoroughly when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Reduce watering slightly during the winter months but do not allow the soil to dry out completely. - **Soil:** Use a well-draining, fertile soil mix rich in organic matter. A combination of loam, peat, and sand or perlite works well to ensure good drainage while retaining moisture. - **Temperature:** Syzygium prefers warm conditions, ideally between 18–25°C (65–77°F). Protect from temperatures below 10°C (50°F), as it is sensitive to cold and frost. - **Humidity:** Maintain moderate to high humidity levels.
